How Sweet It Is

Everett recently bought me a present just for being a good wife and mom. He got major points for his sweet gift. Here is the purse he bought me. A friend of his from high school (Claire Sanchez) makes them and sells them all over the country. They are really cute. Check them out if you are looking for a cute bag. A lot of them are on sale now! I think she will be adding baby clothes to her collection soon. www.clairesanchez.com

Daddy's Little Girl

E & E get some hang time before work. Aren't they so cute together? Posted by Picasa

Morning Stretches

Ellie does the funniest stretches each morning. She is so long from head to toe and loves to stretch out in her crib.

Ellie and Rebecca

Rebecca Haynie (one of my youth girls) came to play with Ellie and me the other day. It is hard to imagine that Ellie will be Rebecca's age one day! Posted by Picasa

Snuggle Time

Ellie and Uncle Brad snuggled in front of the tv on Sunday... they both look like they would rather be watching their program than taking this picture :)

Sucking My Thumb & Sleeping Through the Night

Well, here is our little thumb sucker doing what she does best - sleeping and sleeping and sleeping. Lately, she has taken to making sure she gets in a full 12 hours each night in her own crib without waking up! Woo-hoo! We even went out of town this weekend and she slept through the night each night in her pack in play. Thatta girl, Ellie. Every morning when I go into check on her, she looks like this: rolled on her side, sucking her thumb. Too cute.  Posted by Picasa

Furrowing My Brows

This seems to be one of Ellie's favorite faces. She is always thinking... what goes on in that little head. If only we knew... Posted by Picasa

Ellie - Weeks 8 & 9

I know this looks like I took these the same day, but I promise they were taken a week apart. The first picture was taken the day Ellie got her 2 month shots. The doctor walked in the office and took one look at her and said "It looks like she lost a neck and gained a chin." Yes, that's our girl, weighing 13 lbs, putting her in the 95%. Our heavyweight champ got 3 shots in her leg and one oral vaccine. She was a brave little soldier and barely cried at the doctors office. The rest of the day she was quite fussy and ran a little fever.

Beautiful Baby

Here my Ellie Belly is peacefully sleeping through the chaoes of our Garage Sale. Poor Rebecca got up to babysit her at 7 am on a Saturday morning and she slept the whole time! Sorry Aunt Rebecca!  Posted by Picasa

Thank you, Baby Whisperer!

Our newest baby milestone: Ellie sleeping in her crib. And I have the Baby Whisperer to thank! After a frustrating and exhausting week of listening to Ellie "cry it out" every night at bedtime (for hours and hours), a co-worker of Everett's reminded me of the Baby Whisperer. I read the book that night - (Thanks to Alison Schmelzer for letting me borrow). After three days of applying the Baby Whisperer's techniques, Ellie is sleeping in her crib and only feeding once a night. Everett and I have our evenings back and can actually enjoy each other without the background music of Ellie's screams. I love how flexible her suggestions are (you order the baby's day (eat, play, sleep) instead of putting them on a strict schedule that forces you to live by the clock). Ellie is responding well: last night she slept from 10 pm to 9:30 am and only woke up once to eat!

Too busy to blog

Apologies to all of you regular blog checkers - I have been falling down on the job. I have recently started back to work and there hasnt been much time between the busy lives of my sweet hubby, chubby baby and my youth at church! I am thankful for a flexible job that allows me to hold my baby and work at the same time! I love watching the youth play with her - they are sweet to her and fight over getting to hold her. I think she is even the background on several of their cell phones! I promise to do a big better on keeping you updated from now on!

Fun in the Sun

We took Ellie to Destin for Memorial Day Weekend. She was the cutest thing on the beach. Our little traveler had kind of a rough trip bc she got pink eye while we were there :( I am sort of obsessed with her swim suit - we took lots of pics bc I know she will outgrow it soon!  Posted by Picasa

Splish Splash
