Ellie - 3 weeks old

Ellie is 3 weeks old. I cant believe that she was in my tummy only 3 weeks ago - it feels like so much more time has passed. She is still struggling with her acid reflux and is uncomfortable and fussy. She loves strolling and riding in the car but she tends to mess up her diaper and clothes anytime she goes somewhere - like today when she tee teed on my mom's kitchen table while i was trying to change her diaper. Posted by Picasa

Ellie and Clayton

Today Ellie met her cousin Clayton (Mac -my oldest brother- and Christy's son). Clayton is about 18 months old and calls her "Ewwie." We are not really sure if he understands that Ellie is the name of the baby because he points to her carseat whether she is in it or not and says "Ewwie". Here Didi (my mom) is pictured with both her grandkids. Posted by Picasa

The Sweetest Song

Have you heard the song Find Your Wings by Mark Harris? I love it... it seems to say so clearly what Everett and I wish for Ellie... I've included part of it below. Everett is already making fun of me because this song makes me cry - I guess I have some extra hormones left from pregnancy and childbirth :) I can already tell that Ellie looks different and that she is growing so fast...

Find Your Wings by Mark Harris

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that Heaven has for you
will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And if I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

PS - Note that Ellie's umbilical cord came off this week - We love her Ellie button (Other people have belly buttons, but she has an Ellie button :) Posted by Picasa

I had a bad day...

Today Ellie and I took a little trip to TJ Maxx so Mommy could do some bargain shopping. She was so sweet the entire time and even let me try on over 10 articles of clothes (of which I only bought 2, don't worry, Everett). As we were leaving the store, I noticed something in her carseat. Upon closer inspection, I realized she had poo pooed through her clothes and onto her carseat. We went straight to the car where I managed to strip her down and clean her and her carseat up enough to put her back in wearing nothing but a new diaper! The bad news is that I didnt have enough wipes to clean myself up and had to drive home with baby poo on my hands... so gross!

This picture shows Ellie in her t-shirt from Argentina! Didi (my mom) got this for her on a cruise in February. It looks like she might be trying to shoot me the bird but cant figure out what finger to use. She likes to throw up gang symbols like the one in this pic... should we be worried? Posted by Picasa

Little lamb hates her bath

this picture doesnt really show the tears but bath time is quite traumatic for ellie. Everett says she acts like we are dipping her in boiling hot water (don't worry, we aren't) but she does turn all red and screams at the top of her lungs... it is sometimes hard not to laugh because she is so dramatic... she loves her lamb towel (shown below) because she knows that means bath time is over!  Posted by Picasa

Baby Ellie - 2 Weeks old today!

Natalie came over this weekend and gave me the idea to take pics of Ellie as she grows each week. Here is her 2 week picture. We went to the pediatrician for our first visit yesterday. We love Dr. Ellison! He was so great with Ellie and answered all of my many questions. Ellie even smiled at him when he took her pulse :) So far, Ellie is in 75% for her height and head circumference and the 90% for her weight. We love our little heavyweight champ! We did learn that she has a bit of acid reflux (thus explains the projectile vomiting and the multiple outfit changes per day). But Dr. Ellison said it was more of a laundry problem than anything else and she will outgrow it. We are thankful for our healthy, growing girl! Posted by Picasa

Like Father, Like Daughter

Lolly (aka Everett's mom) came to visit over Easter. She brought Everett's baby book. Can you see the resemblance between Baby Everett (top) and Baby Ellie? Thanks to Lolly for babysitting Ellie and letting Everett and I get out for a bit. Also, thanks for all the help - going to the grocery, buying us dinner, taking care of Ellie so we could get some rest!

Mystery Robe

Someone left this cute Carters robe in a white bag with pink tissue paper by our back door. There was no card... can anyone tell me who left it? I should offer some kind of prize for any information that leads me to the gift giver - hmm, any tip that leads to the true identity of the gift giver will earn the tipper the right to hold one really cute baby :) Posted by Picasa

Look what the Easter bunny brought!

Ellie is small enough to fit in her Easter basket. Thanks to Uncle Mac, Aunt Christy and Clayton for giving Ellie this precious Easter basket! Posted by Picasa

Daddy, tell me a story

On Easter, Everett read the Easter story to Ellie. Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for us! Sometimes I wonder if Ellie saw Him while He was making her... :)  Posted by Picasa

this is the rest of the outfit that matches the bunny outfit. after we took this pic, ellie managed to go to the bathroom all over the leather ottoman she is lying on... Posted by Picasa

Some Bunny Loves Me

Have you ever seen anything so cute?
Happy Easter everyone! Posted by Picasa

All tuckered out

We put this precious bunny hat on Ellie and she pulled it over her eyes while she was sleeping. It was too cute!  Posted by Picasa

Snug as a bug

Ellie loves her carseat. It is one of her favorite places to sleep. Here she is on her way to her first doctors appt. We had our second appt today and she got an A+. She gained 5 oz in two days... she is an eater like her mama!  Posted by Picasa

I look just like my daddy

We keep trying to find something Ellie inherited from me... so far her dark hair, eyes and skin look just like Everett. I think she might have my ears, though... I know, I am really reaching here Posted by Picasa

Nap Time

Daddy and Ellie love to take naps on the couch together.  Posted by Picasa

Mamma loves her little Ellie!

Ellie Maret White

Ellie arrived April 6, 2006 at 5:25 pm.
As you can see on the scale, she weighed in at 8 lbs 15 oz and was 22 in long. Visitors viewing her in the nursery lovingly referred to her as "the big baby." Have you ever seen such a beautiful cone head? We are thankful to report that her head has gone down to a normal round shape. Posted by Picasa

Contractions - the story of labor

Here I am mid-contraction. After a lot of support from Everett and almost two fun-filled hours of pushing, we welcomed Ellie into this world... she is a lot of work but mostly just a blessing we are thankful to have! We have several good quotes from my time in labor... afterwards, I told the doctor "I am sure I am supposed to thank you at this point, but I am not ready for that. I am going to have to forget this whole experience a little" She laughed and I thanked her the next day!  Posted by Picasa
