Ellie & Anderson

Anderson, your mommy and daddy are very nice to let you play with me. I know that I can be a little rough. My mommy keeps telling me that I am not big enough to pick you up but you are so cute and little and I am big for my age - I just think it could work out. But, since my mom has spanked me at least 3 times this weekend for picking you up, I am really working on resisting the urge. Thanks for still being my friend. I will forgive you a lot of times too (if I need to) when you are older and we can be friends forever, okay? I am really working on playing nice. Remember how I shared my chair with you?

Have you heard? I can tee tee potty!

I dude it!

Ellie has become quite a do-it-yourself-er lately. Here's a little snapshot of what happens when she strikes out on her own...

Tee-Tee Potty, Funny Stories and more!

Apologies, faithful readers. I have been on a bit of a blog hiatus. Blame it on being overworked, blessed with a toddler who likes to see the sun rise, and my growing bitterness toward the blog sign in page (it hates me and refuses to let me sign on on a regular basis). I am back but sad to tell you that our life is just not that exciting lately. Few updates to bring you all up to speed (I know you have been lying awake nightly wondering what we were up too :)

1. Ellie tee-tees on the potty - but only for a sticker. She has been super easy to potty train. We are not going on the potty every time but she is up to three times a day and it has just been a natural progression - no fighting. She loves some Dora stickers so that helps. It is hilarious to see her sprinting through the house toward the potty yelling "Run, tee-tee, Run, tee-tee" We are so proud of her for being such a big girl and tackling potty training so early (she is just over two years old).

2. Cute story. Ellie and I went strolling recently. Below is a conversation we had on our walk.
E: Mama, ere moon? (where's the moon"
J: The moon is night night. The moon sleeps in the day and the sun sleeps at night.
E: Oh
Few minutes pass and we come up on some birds chirping.
E: (to the birds) Shhh! Moon Night Night

It was too cute to see her little brain process all of that.

The Billings

Everett's high school friend, Kirk and his wife, Nancy came to visit us recently. We had a great time hanging out with them and had a great meal at Walker's. I dont know why my arm looks extra blubbery in that picture but oh well - guess I am getting tharms (thigh arms) - a term coined by Helen. It still isn't enough for me to give up dessert :)

You're so vain... you probably think this post is about you...

Here is Ellie looking at "Piturs Ewwie" (Pictures of Ellie) which she demands to see on a daily basis. She is also really into sitting on the counter very close to our bathroom mirror and putting on her lipstick.... what are we going to do with her :)

Becca Jowee

Ellie loves to say Rebecca Jolly's name. We have gotten to see a lot of Becca lately and its been so fun. I kept Rebecca while Brandon and Nat went to a Baker Donelson function (Everett was out of town or we would have been hob-nobbing with the lawyers and enjoying free food and drink, too :)

Ellie's Favorite Baby Sitter

So I just uploaded some pics from my camera and I found some snap shots Ellie and her baby sitter, "Becca" took one night while we were out. Too funny. Ellie loves Rebecca and every time she sees her at church she screams "See Becca, See Becca." It is so sweet and precious to see the youth I love so much love on my little girl :) I am still trying to figure out how in the world she got Ellie to sit still long enough to braid her hair ...
