My Opinion

Despite the fact that I have been told a time or two that I should refrain from sharing my thoughts on my blog and just post pictures, there is a time or two when you need to hear a story from our lives or I need to just share my opinion - whether you like it or not :)

So here goes. Have you ever woken up shivering under your covers? Imagine that and add a broken heater and a screaming baby who only wants to sleep in her crib where she has her own space but then can't sleep in her crib because its too cold. Welcome to our world this past Friday night. If you could have only seen the antics of us jumping up and putting on more clothes and jumping back under covers with ellie between us. Jumping back out of bed and dragging the pack n play in our room to see if she will go to sleep. Adding toys that don't make much noise to see if she will just be sort of quiet and play. Everett coughs. Ellie stands up and walks to the corner of her pack n play that is closest to my face and just stares at me whining. It is hard to sleep with someone staring at you... especially when she two feet tall and is making you laugh. I get her in bed and she falls asleep nestled in my armpit (doesnt sound comfortable or appealing to me, but she liked it - for an hour). At this point, we decided it was time to wake the grandparents. We got in the car and drove to the heat. Just as we were getting back to sleep at Didi and Pops, the phone rang - 6 am on a Saturday... could it not wait? It couldn't. It was my brother and his wife was in labor in Starkville. So, sleep deprived, we all loaded up in the Land Cruiser and drove to Starkville.... see the post below to meet precious Emily.

Meet Baby Emily

Meet my neice - Emily Owen Maxwell. Born 2 weeks early on Feb 17 at 9:44 am. She weighed a little over 7 lbs. She is perfectly healthy and her big brother Clayton thinks she is great because she brought him race cars and two coloring books :) It's probably a little hard to tell from the picture but she looks like Christy, her mama. She has blonde hair and looks kind of like Clayton did as a baby.

Happy Family

My Neice

I got to hold Baby Emily just hours after she was born. She is precious and she felt so light compared to my big ole baby ellie :)

Play time

I am still having some trouble with blogger but I am trying to force myself to sit down and give the people what they want - more pics of this cute baby :) We are not trying to keep her all to ourselves, I just get so frustrated with my computer. I needed a bit of a break.

Baby Plumber

I hope this isnt a sign indicating Ellie's future employment! I am still working on getting my computer fixed...
